Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai face the courts f…

Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai face the courts for being in a kiss scene in Dhoom 2. For an international view of the episode, Click here . Yup, it’s been in the top 5 news headlines today on Yahoo! , for the whole world to see and laugh at.

A 2-second kiss! Pah!

The agitated lawyer had this to say about it – The kiss apparently ‘offends’ and ‘degrades’ the image of women. What is so utterly hypocritical here is that ‘Babuji’ and all the other item songs where a desi stripper dances for a crowd of drunken men is no big deal … but a touch of the lips between a man and a woman … NOOOooooooooooooooooo !

The funny part is that the movie was released with a ‘Parental Discretion’ rating. So he can’t even claim that he took his children to watch this movie and then unexpectedly there was a kiss going on, and now he’s suing. Apparently, he HIMSELF couldn’t take this kiss ! Maybe he needs a ‘Grand-Parental Discretion’ rating where his grand-parents see the movie first, and then they decide if the movie is suitable for him.

Even funnier is that I have seen tons of movies where the hero gets to kiss the heroine on her neck, her shoulders, her tummy and gets away with it … but apparently when you kiss the lips … [ Note that the lips are also the most Non-sexual of all the places listed above ] the movie suddenly becomes a cheap porno flick !

Where was this lawyer when all the item songs were playing on MTV ? Where was he when Bipasha Basu, Mallika Sherawat and Yana Gupta were dancing sensuously to rowdy crowds in so many movies ?

I wish these stupid men and their antics didn’t receive so much publicity. The only ones being embarassed right now are all the thousands of desis abroad who are being judged by this episode , and stereotyped some more to be more prudish than ever … I can only imagine an American guy reading this article and saying in true Obelix style, ‘Man, these Indians are crazy!’

  1. Very well said. And some of my friends judge me when I say I’ve never had an affliction for Bollywood movies. Seriously!

  2. :) Awww, not ALL of bollywood is that bad, there are a few gems here and there that are really worth watching. However, the ‘moral fiber’ that ties bollywood movies and public acceptance can be very ridiculous with all the hypocrisy going on there.

Thanks for stopping by the Realm ! :)

  3. This is true. And I think this is why I stopped watching Bollywood movies. BUT when I do catch the odd one (thanks to my dad who’s still a big fan) I have to say that at times I am impressed with the shift in genre I see in some Bollywood movies. Where previously divorce issues & common law cohabitation were taboo, it’s not such a big deal to see these occassinally crop up in the story line.
